黑暗如地牢

「Dark as a Dungeon」是由創作歌手梅爾·崔維斯（Merle Travis）所寫的一首歌曲。這首歌哀嘆在豎井煤礦中擔任煤礦工人的危險與辛勞。它已成為尋求改善工作條件的礦工們的集會歌曲。

這首歌聲名大噪，主要歸功於強尼·凱許（Johnny Cash）在其佛森監獄演唱會（At Folsom Prison）上的演出。在這場現場表演中，背景裡一名囚犯笑了起來，凱許也跟著輕笑。他溫和地告誡那名男子：「唱歌時請不要笑！」那名男子大喊了聲關於「地獄！」之類的話，凱許回答說：「我知道，『地獄』！」唱完這首歌後，凱許發表了一段評論，後來在 2005 年的凱許傳記電影《為你鍾情》（Walk the Line）中，由瓦昆·菲尼克斯（Joaquin Phoenix）有點斷章取義地重述了這段話：「我只是想告訴你們，這場表演正在為哥倫比亞唱片公司（Columbia Records）發行的專輯進行錄製，所以你們不能說『地獄』或『狗屎』或任何類似的詞。」
