軟男孩

The Soft Boys 是一個由吉他手 Robyn Hitchcock 領導的英國搖滾樂團。

The Soft Boys 於 1976 年在英國劍橋成立，最初自稱為 Dennis and the Experts。他們的第一個陣容包括吉他手 Hitchcock、吉他手 Rob Lamb（廣播主持人兼作家 Charlie Gillett 的同母異父兄弟）、貝斯手 Andy Metcalfe 和鼓手 Morris Windsor。1976 年底，在僅僅四場演出後，Alan Davies 取代了 Lamb，而 Kimberley Rew 最終取代了 Davies。正是這個由 Hitchcock、Rew、Metcalfe 和 Windsor 組成的陣容，錄製了 The Soft Boys 於 1979 年發行的首張專輯《A Can of Bees》。

後 Soft Boys 時期與重組

Rew 組建了更為主流的流行樂團 Katrina and the Waves。Hitchcock 則以類似的古怪、超現實風格繼續其多產的音樂生涯。1984 年，他與 The Soft Boys 的夥伴 Morris Windsor 和 Andy Metcalfe 組成了 Robyn Hitchcock and the Egyptians，並在接下來的十年裡進行巡演和錄音。1994 年，為紀念其作品盒裝合輯的發行，他們短暫重組 The Soft Boys，並由 Rew、Jim Melton 和 Seligman 加入，進行了一次英國巡演。2001 年，為慶祝《Underwater Moonlight》發行 20 週年並發行新專輯——2002 年的《Nextdoorland》，他們在 Metcalfe 缺席的情況下再次短暫重聚。他們於 2003 年再度解散。

Seligman 於 2020 年因 COVID-19 併發症去世。
