曼菲多·塔夫里（Manfredo Tafuri，1935年11月4日生於羅馬 ; 1994年2月23日逝於威尼斯）是一位義大利馬克思主義建築師、歷史學家、理論家、評論家及學者。一位評論家稱他為「二十世紀下半葉世界上最重要的建築史學家」。他以對布魯諾·澤維（Bruno Zevi）和齊格菲·基迪恩（Siegfried Giedion）等前輩建築史學家及評論家的黨派性「操作性批判」（operative criticism）提出尖銳批評而聞名，並挑戰了如海因里希·沃夫林（Heinrich Wölfflin）和魯道夫·維特科爾（Rudolf Wittkower）等早期權威學者將文藝復興定調為「黃金時代」的觀點。

職業生涯

對塔夫里而言，建築史並非遵循一種目的論的框架，讓一種語言以線性序列接替另一種語言。相反地，它是一場在批判、理論和意識形態層面上，以及透過實踐所面臨的多重限制下持續進行的鬥爭。由於這場鬥爭持續至今，建築史並非一門僵死的學術科目，而是一個開放的辯論場域。在他看來，建築學與其他文化領域一樣，甚至尤有過之，因其自主的藝術特質與其技術和功能維度之間的張力，使其成為一個由危機所定義和構成的領域。儘管塔夫里身處其時代的辯論之中，他仍將建築史學家的任務置於一個結合了批判性參與和歷史距離的框架內。

塔夫里探索了西方從中世紀時期至今的每一個建築史時代，並對日本現代建築研究做出了重要貢獻。在其職業生涯的最後十年，他對文藝復興時期建築的理論與實踐進行了全面的重新評估，探索其多樣的社會、知識和文化背景，同時對塑造了整個時代的再現手法之運用提供了廣泛的理解。他最後一部著作《詮釋文藝復興：君主、城市、建築師》（Interpreting the Renaissance: Princes, Cities, Architects）於1992年出版，該書透過討論義大利建築創新的主要中心（佛羅倫斯、羅馬和威尼斯）、十五世紀中葉至十六世紀初期的主要贊助人，以及如萊昂·巴蒂斯塔·阿伯提（Leon Battista Alberti）、菲利波·布魯內萊斯基（Filippo Brunelleschi）、弗朗切斯科·迪·喬治（Francesco di Giorgio）、羅倫佐·德·麥地奇（Lorenzo de' Medici）、布拉曼特（Bramante）、拉斐爾（Raphael）、巴爾達薩雷·卡斯蒂廖內（Baldassare Castiglione）和朱利奧·羅馬諾（Giulio Romano）等關鍵人物，綜合闡述了建築思想與計畫的歷史。
