擬姬蛛屬

• Parasteatoda* 是姬蛛科的一個屬，於1946年由艾倫·佛洛斯特·亞契（Allan Frost Archer）首次描述。屬名由古希臘語的「para-」（意為「靠近」或「旁邊」）和姬蛛科的 *Steatoda*（肥腹蛛屬）組合而成。此屬的日文名稱為「オオヒメグモ属」（O-himegumo zoku）。

描述

• Parasteatoda* 屬的物種具有典型的淚滴狀腹部，前部遠高於頭胸甲，且絲疣朝下。腹部的顏色變化很大，無論是物種之間還是物種內部皆然。牠們具有輕微的兩性異形；雄蛛外觀與雌蛛相似，但體型略小。

物種

這主要是一個舊世界屬，許多物種分佈於亞洲和新幾內亞，分佈範圍亦延伸至歐洲。少數物種源自新世界，但許多物種已被引入，並在美洲和歐洲變得更加普遍。
