查爾斯·強森·梅納德結過兩次婚。

1870年，他與寶琳·瑟洛·格林伍德結婚。她是麻薩諸塞州伊普斯威奇燈塔看守人兼格林伍德農場主人托馬斯·史密斯·格林伍德（Thomas Smith Greenwood）的女兒。她的父親也曾獲得麻薩諸塞州人道協會的獎項。查爾斯和寶琳育有兩個孩子，其中包括莫德·寶琳（Maude Pauline，1872-1965），她與喬治·威廉·菲普斯（George William Phypers）共同擁有俄亥俄州的格林伍德農場。
