倫內爾島巨蜥

倫內爾島巨蜥（Varanus juxtindicus）是一種發現於索羅門群島的巨蜥。牠也被稱為哈科伊巨蜥。牠與樹冠巨蜥、桃喉巨蜥、卡拉貝克巨蜥等物種，同屬 Euprepiosaurus 亞屬。

分布

此物種為索羅門群島中較小的島嶼之一——倫內爾島的特有種。牠尤其常見於紐帕尼（Niupani）附近。

描述

倫內爾島巨蜥從吻部到尾巴的長度可達 150 公分。其背部的圖案和顏色與印度巨蜥（V. indicus）非常相似，但此物種因缺乏藍色（見 Varanus yuwonoi 和 Varanus doreanus），而與 Euprepiosaurus 亞屬的其他成員有所區別。其尾部沒有條紋，頭部側面也沒有可見的帶狀紋路。V. juxtindicus 的喉部缺乏明顯的圖案。其舌頭僅尖端有色素。其尾巴前三分之一的直徑呈圓形，沒有任何脊稜。
