Cherubs（英國樂團）

Cherubs 是一個來自英國和挪威的五人搖滾樂團。樂團成員包括 Staale Krantz Bruland、Espen Dahl、Matthew Orchard、Jørgen Raa 及 Glenn Wange。樂團於 2003 年成立，並於 2007 年 9 月解散。

歷史

樂團於 2003 年 12 月成立，在短時間內便與 The Libertines、Bloc Party、The Cribs、The Rakes、Razorlight、Maxïmo Park、The Departure、Moving Units、The Others、Art Brut 等眾多樂團在英國及海外各地進行演出與巡迴。

首張單曲〈Hey Bunny〉於 2004 年 10 月發行，第二張單曲則是非專輯曲目〈Club Hoola Hoop's Walls〉，於 2005 年 2 月發行。他們的出道專輯《Uncovered by Heartbeat》於 2005 年 4 月 18 日由 Cargo Records 發行。該專輯由 Howard Gray 製作，並由 Ashley Krajewski 在 Apollo Control Studios 錄音。2005 年 4 月 23 日，樂團在 Camden Barfly 為滿場觀眾舉辦了一場專輯發行表演。

單曲〈A Man of No Importance〉是另一首非專輯曲目，於 8 月 15 日以 CD 單曲及限量版七吋單曲形式發行。該曲由水星音樂獎提名製作人 Gareth Parton（曾與 Ikara Colt、The Go! Team、The Killers、The Futureheads、Shellac、The Breeders、Foals 合作）製作。

2005 年夏天，樂團在 Wireless Festival、T in the Park 以及雷丁與里茲音樂節（Reading and Leeds Festivals）演出。

2005 年秋天，Glenn Wange 通知樂團他打算在年底離團以繼續學業，並於 11 月 24 日在倫敦的 Barfly 進行了最後一場演出。2006 年 2 月，Glenn Fryatt 加入成為新任鼓手。

Cherubs 的唱片公司是位於倫敦的 Cargo Records。

樂團於 2007 年 9 月解散。

• Jørgen Raa 在 Cherubs 解散後加入了樂團 XX Teens。
• Espen Dahl 出現在 The Libertines 的《The Sailor Sessions》錄音作品中（2005年），並在 Cherubs 解散後加入了樂團 Stricken City。
• Glenn Fryatt 在 Cherubs 解散後為 Ten Benson 擔任鼓手並參與錄音，之後於 2010 年加入倫敦的 1960 年代衝浪樂團 Oh! Gun Quit。Fryatt 接著與 Roman Remains 合作，該團體由 The Duke Spirit 的 Liela Moss 和 Toby Butler 組成。他目前是廣受好評的雙人搖滾組合 The Diamond Lights、洛杉磯的 Happy Hollows 以及 Chief White Lightning 的鼓手。
• Matthew Orchard 在 Cherubs 解散後組建了 The Bela Lugosi Blues（2008–2010），之後加入了車庫龐克樂團 Thee Cuss Words（2010–11），目前在 These Guilty Men 擔任吉他手。
• Staale Krantz Bruland 曾以 Moist Tiger 計畫發表歌詞與人聲作品，目前（2019年）同時擔任挪威車庫搖滾混合樂團 The Hiveminds 與電子冷酷個人計畫 Brusk 的主唱。他也與妻子共同擁有自己的微型錄音室廠牌「XU Records」。
