西方盲蛇（學名：*Rena humilis*），又稱西部細盲蛇、西部線蛇，是細盲蛇科下的一種蛇。本物종原產於美國西南部和墨西哥北部。目前公認有六個有效亞種，包括本文描述的指名亞種。

==描述==

如同細盲蛇科的大多數物種，西方盲蛇（*R. humilis*）外觀類似一條長長的蚯蚓。牠們生活在地下的洞穴中，由於視覺已無用處，其眼睛多半已退化。西方盲蛇的顏色為粉紅色、紫色或銀棕色，身體有光澤、呈蠕蟲狀、圓柱形，頭尾兩端皆為鈍形，並有可感光的黑色眼點。其頭骨厚實以便於鑽土，尾巴末端則有一根角質刺，可用於施力。牠的全長（含尾巴）通常小於 30 公分（12 英吋），且與蚯蚓一樣細。本物種與其他盲蛇在低頻紫外線（黑光燈）下會發出螢光。

在頭頂的眼鱗之間，*L. humilis* 只有一枚鱗片（而 *L. dulcis* 則有三枚）。

==地理分佈==
西方盲蛇（*R. humilis*）分佈於美國西南部及墨西哥北部。在美國，其分佈範圍從德州的西南部和外佩科斯地區，向西延伸，經過亞利桑那州的南部和中部、內華達州南部、猶他州西南部，直到加州南部。在墨西哥，其分佈範圍包括下加利福尼亞州、索諾拉州、錫那羅亞州、納亞里特州、哈利斯科州、科利馬州、奇瓦瓦州、杜蘭戈州、科阿韋拉州、塔毛利帕斯州和聖路易斯波托西州。

模式產地被標示為「加州，Valliecitas」。Klauber (1931) 將模式產地限縮於「加州聖地牙哥郡東部，Vallecito 附近」，而 Brattstrom (1953) 則將其限縮於「Vallecito 地區的上索諾拉生命區」。

==棲地與食性==
西方盲蛇（*R. humilis*）生活在地下，有時可深達 20 公尺（66 英尺），並已知會入侵螞蟻和白蟻的巢穴。牠的食物主要由昆蟲及其幼蟲和卵所組成。牠們出沒於土壤鬆散、足以鑽洞的沙漠和灌木叢。
